I am Jen, the owner and author of The Suburban Mom. As the mom of two wonderful (and active) girls, my days are filled with carpool, diaper changes, craft projects and all things mommy. Becoming a mom inspired the creation of The Suburban Mom, and since being a mom means wearing many hats I am never at a loss for words.

I am working with Florida’s Space Coast and will be contributing to the Visit Space Coast Blog over the next few weeks. I’m so excited to share some of my family’s adventures on the Space Coast.

There is Adventure Around Every Corner On Florida’s Space Coast

If you are looking for an outdoor adventure vacation for the whole family, you’ll find something for everyone on a trip to Florida’s Space Coast. My family has escaped to the Florida Space Coast twice in the past six months, and both vacations were filled with memories of great outdoor fun.At home we are land locked in the middle of Central Florida, but just a short drive and we can be beach-side at Cocoa Beach enjoying the sun, sand and waves. Our girls are still too little for surf lessons, but those who seek to ride the waves – this is the place to be. Did you know Cocoa Beach is the surf capital of East Coast? For now we are content building sand castles and body boarding, but one day soon…

Our visits to the coast always include a trip to the Brevard Zoo where we love to hand feed the giraffe, the lorikeet and the cockatiels. Have you ever had a dozen lorikeets land on you to snack out of your hands? For a walk on the wild side take a Treetop Trek and balance on ropes above the animals or kayak past the animals on a guided tour.If you have a need for speed, explore Florida’s natural beauty on an airboat. Because the ride is equally fast and smooth, it’s a great adventure for all ages. Cruise past wild life and learn about the local eco systems – keep your eyes peeled for gators.

For out-of-this-world adventure, nothing tops the Kennedy Space Center. You can have lunch with an astronaut, touch a space rock and come face to face with the real Space Shuttle Atlantis – all in one afternoon.

Your next family vacation is waiting for you at Florida’s Space Coast where you can trade an ordinary weekend for an adventure that will fill your camera with photos and your hearts with family memories.

Speaking of family memories I shared more of our travels on my blog. Come visit for more ideas of things to see.
