Brevard 4-H To Throw Hoedown/Golf Showdown


Brevard County’s 4-H program will host their annual Country Hoedown and Golf Showdown February 28-March 1, 2014. This year, 4-H is opening the doors to the community and inviting everyone out to the a finger-licking good barbecue with all the trimmin’s prepared the Brevard County Cattlemen’s Association and Brevard County Farm Bureau. Brevard 4-H have also upped the ante by hosting the event at popular country and western bar, County Line Saloon, 4650 W New Haven Avenue in Melbourne, Florida, complete with a live band, line dancing, and a mechanical bull.

Then on Saturday, the event moves to Suntree Country Club for the Golf Showdown featuring a 2-person scramble with grand prizes throughout the course.

4-H, established in 1902, is a youth organization administered by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture of the United States Department of Agriculture, with the mission of “engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development”.
