Symphonic Spooktacular to serve up musical treat, candy & food trucks!

Mark your calendars for the Brevard Symphony Orchestra’s Free Family Concert on October 28, 2012.  This year’s family-friendly concert, Symphonic Spooktakular, will be held at 3:00pm at the King Center for the Performing Arts located at 3865 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, Florida.  Enjoy an afternoon filled with your spooky favorites performed LIVE by Your Brevard Symphony Orchestra and hosted by Mike & Mindy from Lite Rock 99.3! Audience members are encouraged to join the orchestra and wear family-friendly costumes.  This concert is the perfect Halloween treat!  

The Food Truck Bazaar, Central Florida’s original mobile gourmet food truck party, will begin at 12:00pm.  Concert and Activities Area are FREE.  Food is not. Food prices range from $6-$10.  A ticket is required for the concert and can be printed online at www.BrevardSymphony.com.  Each ticket admits four (4).  General admission seating is limited to 1,800.  Dates, times, programs and featured artists are subject to change. 

Highlights include: 

The Food Truck Bazaar will be on hand to kick off the BSO’s Free Family Concert.  A variety of unique trucks offering a wide variety of different food styles will be located in the King Center parking lot.  Food trucks will begin serving at 12:00p.m., and patrons are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities in this fun-filled, tailgating atmosphere.  

Ensembles from the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra will perform prior to the concert in the King Center lobby, as well as during the Food Truck Bazaar. 

The Brevard Zoo will be on-hand, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, with creepy creatures for your Halloween delight! 

During the performance, patrons will be treated to music from Superman, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Wizard of Oz.   Classics by Saint-Saens, Grieg and Offenbach will also fill the auditorium with spooky sounds of the Symphony.  

A special performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller will feature a visit from some ghoulish guests…including a special appearance by members of the Space Coast Ballet. 

Following the performance you can meet BSO musicians and Music Director and Principal Conductor, Christopher Confessore.   PLUS…participate in the hands-on activities area featuring the Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, crafts and more.
