Historic Cocoa Village will be smokin’ as the Big Rig Grills of the Florida BBQ Association (FBA) join talented amateur chefs and top Blues Performers Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 for the Second Annual BBQ & Blues at Cocoa’s Riverfront Park.
Friday evening will see ongoing entertainment in Historic Cocoa Village highlighted by a VIP Party, a Pub Crawl through the Village and a presentation of the original “Blues Brothers” movie starring Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi and Cab Calloway on Riverfront Park’s big outdoor screen.
On Saturday, Riverfront Park will see the ‘meat’ of the BBQ contest and ring to music from some of the top performers in American Blues who are will be on stage from late morning until dusk. Not to be missed are the children’s arts & play area, various street entertainments; a craft vendor village showcasing the work of some two dozen talented local artists and crafters and of course the 5:00PM awards ceremony to honor the very tastiest in Florida BBQ!
The Historic Cocoa Village Association, the HCVA, represents the majority of the merchants in Cocoa Village. The HCVA’s mandate is to help promote and encourage growth of the Historic Cocoa Village community and the City of Cocoa in general by organizing and hosting community events and activities in the Village. Funds raised support various promotions, general advertising and tourism development. The HCVA’s most prominent events include four Art and Craft shows, the Spring and Fall Central Florida Car Shows and of course, BBQ & Blues. The HCVA also partners with the City of Cocoa and Cocoa Main Street in the presentation of various other events throughout the year
