The Space Coast Top Ten 4/27-4/29

On the Space Coast this weekend and wondering what to get into?  Well, there’s plenty of sunshing and plenty to do.  So we’ve picked our list TOP TEN THINGS TO DO this weekend on Florida’s Space Coast! Attend one or attend them all, life’s a beach on our coast:)

10. Pick up some pointers at Fishing 101
Cape Canaveral National Seashore will host “Fishing 101” on Sunday, April 29 at 10am. Join a Ranger for a fun day of fishing. Learn about Mosquito Lagoon and why it is such a unique estuary. Meet at the Eddy Creek Dock and don’t forget a hat, sunscreen and water. Limited amount of fishing rods. more

9. Take in a Ball Game at Space Coast Stadium
The Bevard Manatees take on the left coast’s Clearwater Threshers this weekend for a three game header. All games begin at 6:35 pm, gates open at 6:05 pm. General admission tickets are only $7.00. more

8. Join the Party at the 8th Annual Fiesta Brevard
Join one of the most popular parties on the Space Coast, the 8th Annual Fiesta Brevard on Saturday, April 27! Come and get your fiesta with two days filled with non-stop entertainment, Latin dance performances, games, drawings, raffles, salsa contest, fiesta hat parade and contest, and lots of food! more

7. Get back to nature @ Paddle Boarding Wildlife Adventure
Suitable for pros and beginners, the Paddle Boarding Wildlife Adventure is for eco lovers looking to get back to nature. This adventure will launch from Honest John’s Fish Camp, 750 Mullet Creek Road in Melbourne Beach and wind its way through the Mullet Creek Preserve. more

6. Become one w/ the Animals @ Safari Under the Stars 2012
Guests attending this annual event under the stars can expect a chance to meet actual living dinosaurs, dinner by Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and an evening at Safari After Dark with music, dancing, drinks and sweets in the Nyami Nyami River Lodge. more

5. Sample local flavor at the Space Coast Seafood Festival
This 10-day family friendly event will wind down this weekend.  But that doesn’t mean it won’t be any fun for this event that not only features succulent locally caught seafood, but also a midway, rodeo and nightly live entertainment. more

4.Get into the groove at the Indian River Jazz Festival
The Indian River Jazz Festival will help you get your groove back! Slated for Saturday and Sunday, the Indian River Jazz Festival boasts a waterfront location and a lineup up more than 16 live jazz performers. more

3. USTA Pro Tennis Classic @ Kiwi Tennis Club 
  Hosted at the beautiful Kiwi Tennis Club in Indian Harbour Beach, FL, The MIMA Foundation annually hosts the USTA Pro Tennis Classic featuring 8 days of action packed women’s professional tennis on Florida’s Space Coast!

2. Rock and Stroll at the Cocoa Beach Food & Wine Festival
The 3rd annual Cocoa Beach Wine & Food Festival will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach. This popular culinary event is a full day or gourmet delights paired with fine wines, a car show and a sunset concert by Ambrosia. This year, there will be a special treat with a special cooking appearance by Chef Beau Mac.  The majority of this year’s proceeds of the 3rd Annual Cocoa Beach Wine & Food Festival will benefit the local Junior Achievement. 

1. 25th Annual Melbourne Arts Festival
 The Melbourne Art Festival is going to be bigger and better this year! Celebrating its 25th year, this nationally recognized event always draw a huge crowd and more than 100 artist from throughout the region to downtown historic Melbourne, Florida.
