In less than 4 weeks, the Space Coast plays host to the RUNAWAY COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL, the largest gathering of Country Music stars ever in Florida.
In its second year, Runaway Country just gets bigger and better as it plans to take over Melbourne’s Wickham Park from May 4th thru 6th. Festival organizers have brought together more than 30 artists on 2 stages, all day and into the night.
The line-up represents more than 70 million albums sold including 30 #1 hits spanning a period of almost 20 years! The stellar line-up includes the likes of Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Jake Owen, Chris Young, Kellie Pickler, Brantley Gilbert, Big & Rich, Lo Cash Cowboys, Ashton Shepherd and many more.
Festival Director, Gary McCann offered a glimpse of what fans can expect, “Well, where else can you enjoy a mid-afternoon beverage with your favorite person up close with Jake Owen? Then across the park, discovering a new band you’ve never heard of and in a few weeks you get to brag about how you saw them before they were on everyone’s I-Tune list?
Then you turn around and Randy Travis is on stage, then back to another hot up and coming band, then Chris Young is performing right here in Wickham Park and then another superstar, and another and another, for three straight days.”
Not only that the festival grounds has a ton of recreational activities to get into as well. According to Runaway Country Assistant Director, Robin Tibbitts, festival goers will be able to “take a stroll along the fresh water lakes and beaches.”
And they just might rub shoulders with one of the music idols. “Last year we had several reports of headliners, fishing, camping and hanging out with fans before and after their performances.”
Laurie Serie, Runaway Country’s Production Manager from Nashville explained, “It’s all part of the music festival experience; more music, more artists, food, friends and fun than you can imagine. The Space Coast is the perfect location for a music festival. We are thrilled to be back producing this wonderful event.”
McCann went on to say, “The support of fans, sponsors, volunteers, vendors and artists has made it possible. We have all come together in our sunny destination to celebrate family, friends and great music.”
