The Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce and Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) are once again hosting Celebrate Brevard Food & Wine Tasting Extravaganza on November 11, 2011 from 7p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Melbourne Auditorium.
The annual fundraiser has grown significantly over the years and will include 40 food and wine vendors and 20 non-food vendors. Participant vendor applications are now being accepted according to committee chairman Danny Timothy.
This year the event will also feature Beatlemania, a popular local band, who will perform throughout the evening. Event organizers are also planning raffles and door prizes, along with the annual key lime pie eating contest, a popular favorite among the attendees and participants. Food demonstrations are also planned at various vendor tables.
Any Palm Bay Chamber or FRLA member can offer sampling and promote their cuisine, wine and beer or products free of charge and non-members are charged only $50 for a table. Sponsorship opportunities are also available and range from $500 – $1,500. This is an excellent opportunity for local food and wine businesses to showcase their products according to event organizers.
“Last year one of our non-food vendors displayed his patented invention, the Tree-Hugger garden accessory and six weeks later he was showcasing his product in front of a panel of venture capitalists,” Timothy reported. “You just never know who will show up at these events. Last year attracted over 1,000 attendees and we expect even more this year.”
“This is by far the largest annual food and wine tasting event in South Brevard,” stated Palm Bay Chamber chairman of the board Stuart Borton. “The plan is to offer cuisine from many countries along with fine wine and beer sampling. This is definitely our member’s favorite fundraiser of the year.”
Regular Chamber events include ribbon cuttings, Business After Hours and the Monthly Networking Luncheon which meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Life Care Center of Palm Bay at 175 Villa Nueva Ave NE off Malabar Road
