Campus Kick-Off Planned for Fireball Run: Race to Recover America’s Missing Children

Chevrolet’s Fireball Run Adventurally Southern Excursion is coming to the Space Coast!  The event which encourages their support for finding missing children, will start Sept. 23, 2001 in Melbourne, Fla., and conclude Oct. 1 on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The 2011 rally will feature more than four dozen teams who will drive 2,500 miles in eight days, driving everything from Camaros, Bentleys, Lamborghinis to the Time-traveling DeLorean DMC-12 featured in Back to the Future.

But fans can get a head start on all the fun on August 20th at the Campus Kick-Off event at Florida Institute of Technology, 150 University Blvd. in Melbourne, FL. 

From 11 a.m. – 2 p.m, the public will get to meet Winston Scott, NASA Shuttle Astronaut and Dean of the Florida Tech College of Aeronautics plus J. Sanchez, Fireball Run Executive Producer.  The event will also include, displays on recovering missing children and cars, plus prizes and giveaways from 98.5 The Beach.
