The Brevard Zoo has welcomed it’s newest addition to the fold! The Petting Zone received a baby alpaca. Also known as a cria, the female baby was born to Carletta around 8 a.m. on Sunday, December 19.
According to Zoo officials, the pair are doing well. And since the Petting Zone is open to the public, visitors might get a glimpse of mom and the new baby through the barn stall doors.
The Brevard Zoo is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Last admission is 4:15 p.m. But the Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. In addition, the Zoo closes at 3 p.m. on event days including Safari Under the Stars, Great Tastes of Suntree, and Boo at the Zoo.
