On Friday, July 2, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, the Brevard Cultural Alliance will host a “preview” open house at the BCA Village located in the Eau Gallie Arts District. The front cottage is almost completed and ready to be rented. Not all building interiors will be open for tours. But once fully completed, the BCA Village, will include Brevard Cultural Alliance offices, a Tourist Information Center, a Cultural Information Center and rental spaces for individual artists and cultural organizations.
The goal for BCA’s new home is to meet a need in the Arts District for a space to distribute materials directing visitors to the cultural amenities and activities on Florida’s Space Coast. The five buildings, located at 1462 Guava Avenue in Melbourne, FL, were acquired last year through special partnerships and funding from such organizations as the Olde Eau Gallie Community Redevelopment Agency and the Space Coast Office of Tourism.
The BCA Village space will also be the official headquarters of the Eau Gallie Arts District (EGAD). Together the BCA and EGAD will encourage additional renovations of commercial and residential properties to attract artists into the area to live and work.
