The weather is going to be beautiful this weekend so many of you will be heading on the road, but be warned! The Florida Department of Transportation says that they estimate three eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County (Tampa/St. Pete Area), will be snarled with traffic through the 3-day weekend despite the fact that a contractor is working diligently to fill a depression that developed with concrete.
So far 400 cubic yards have been used, but still the department doesn’t know when the lanes of traffic will be open. “Only the right lane is getting by. I do not have an estimate at this time when all lanes will be open to traffic,” a public information officer said in a statement.
All I-4 lanes East of Hillsborough County and the Beach Expressway (SR 528) heading east towards the East Coast don’t seem to have any foreseable road issues and will be traffic free this weekend for beach traffic.
