U.S. Largest Birding Festival Aims to Soar Above And Beyond Other Festivals Of Its Kind

The 13th Annual Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival  is always a popular event on Florida’s Space Coast and this year isn’t an exception.  One of the largest events of its kind in the U.S. this year’s birding festival will run January 27-February 1, 2010

Geared towards birding and nature enthusiasts, this five day festival always tries to out do itself and others of its ilk by feauturing a jam packed schedule of events for the entire family.  And this year’s festival is going to be a doozy with over 200 field trips, eco friendly seminars and workshops that has attracted wildlife enthusiasts from across the globe because the Space Coast is one of a few areas on the East Coast that birds flock to during the colder winter months.

Some of the festival’s highlights this year include a special reception by Swarovski Optik, who are launching their new EL 42 Edition line of binoculars during the Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival, keynote speeches by an impressive collection of world-renowned speakers, such as David Allen Sibley, Kenn Kaufman, Reinier Munguia, Alvaro Jaramillo, and Louise Zemaitis.  The event will also provide nature photography classes, field trips to Charles H. Bronson State Forest and Little-Big Econ State Forest, kayak lessons, class room presentations, and an even an art competition in which festival goers can participate in.  And get this you don’t have to leave the little ones at home!   The Space Coast Birding Festival also has daily family activities  such as hayrides, kayaking lessons and field trips planned for children as well.

The 13th Annual Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival is headquartered at Brevard Community College’s Titusville Campus.  For hotel discounts you can either contact the official festival hotel, Comfort Inn Kennedy Space Center or visit Florida’s Space Coast official website for their list of special hotel offers!
