For the 24th year, the National Kidney Foundation of Florida (NKF) will host its annual Labor Weekend Charity Surfing Festival on Florida’s Space Coast. Always a crowd pleaser, this five (5) day event to take place from September 3-7, attracts crowds which swell into the hundreds of thousands. This year it doesn’t look any different for this annual fundraiser which helps fund organ donation, patient services, research, and professional education grows even larger with more events and head to head competition between some of the best surfing talent around the world.
This year’s schedule will feature three days of head to head surfing competitions at Cocoa Beach Pier, the annual Taste of Brevard and Silent Auction, a VIP Luau & Cocktail party, Surfer & Sponser Party, live entertainment sunrise to sunset and more vendor demos you can shake a leg at. The National Kidney Foundation of Florida’s Surfing Festival is the largest charity surfing competition in the world. All beachside competions are free for spectators…..
Reptile Week Slithers into Brevard Zoo with a showcase into the world of herps and identify the important role reptiles play in keeping our planet healthy and balanced. This year the Brevard Zoo will have venomous snakes on exhibit in the Nyami Nyami River Lodge on Saturday and Sunday. Guests can hear a talk several times each day from Senior Reptile Keeper, Nick Clark of Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens. In addition, the Zoo will have a multitude of invasive reptiles and snakes on exhibit, species currently found in Florida that are causing harm to several native species. Come learn why this is becoming a huge problem in Florida and what you can do to slow the problem. Brevard Zoo is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last admission is 4:15 p.m. The Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. In addition, the Zoo closes at 3 p.m. on event days including Safari Under the Stars, Great Tastes of Suntree, and Boo at the Zoo.
Brevard Caribbean Festival Calls On Local Flavor….On Sunday, September 6 the Brevard Caribbean Festival will take over downtown Cocoa Village’s Riverfront Park with a jam packed day of flavorful food, live music, and all around fun for the entire family. And considering our areas large Caribbean population, this event will be bursting at the seams! The Brevard Caribbean Festival will begin at 11:00 a.m. and admission and parking is absolutely free to the general public. Riverfront Park is located at 401 Delannoy Avenue in Cocoa.
TitusNites Evokes a Little Nostalgia in downtown Titusville on Friday, September 4 with its monthly Cruise-In & Sock Hop. Hailed as the largest car show on the East Coast, TitusNites will feaure live entertainment, shopping, food and admission is FREE.
