The Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts announced their upcoming 2009-2010 Broadway Season this week…and people…it’s a sizzler!
Beginning November 3, the King Center will be the home of Delta Nu sorority queen Elle Woods, an underestimated blonde whom after her boyfriend dumps her for someone more “serious,” she hits the books and gains entrance into Harvard Law School. Now made for the stage, LEGALLY BLONDE is ready to bring a little more style, substance and hot pink to the King Center for a 5 night run.
During the first week in December, Tony Award Winner for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, AVENUE Q, will take center stage for a 3 night run. Comprised of a cast of both humans and puppet’s AVENUE Q is about trying to make it in the Big Apple with champagne dreams and a beer bottle budget.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s SOUTH PACIFIC will open up the new year with a seven night run the third week in January. Sweeping the Tony Awards in 2008, SOUTH PACIFIC is based on James Michener’s Pulitzer Prize winning book Tales of the South Pacific and features what some consider the finest music ever written.
Then finally, but surely not least, the longest running American broadway musical, A CHORUS LINE comes to the Space Coast. A CHORUS LINE is a timeless musical about 17 dancers auditioning for the chance of a lifetime, earning a spot on a Broadway chorus line. This winner of nine Tony Awards®, including “Best Musical” and the Pulitzer Prize for drama is for anyone who’s ever had a dream and put it all on the line.
Currently the King Center is offering a special 4 shows*Same Seats*One Price where for one price you receive premium seating in the same location for all four shows starting as low as $109.50. To learn more visit their brochure.
