Today might seem like the last leg of a long needed three-day weekend, but its more than that. Memorial Day is the day we remember and thank those who served our country.
On Florida’s Space Coast there are several events throughout the area which will do just that from wreath laying ceremonies, parades, concerts, and even a bar-b-que cruise up the Indian River Lagoon.
So, if you’re in our area, show your support by observing and attending one of the following events:
Wreath Laying Ceremony, Veterans Memorial Park, Broad Street in Titusville, will lay a wreath today at 5pm in honor of Memorial Day.
Memorial Day BBQ Lunch Cruise aboardIndian River Queen 3 hour cruise up the Indian River Lagoon with live entertainment and food! www.indianriverqueen.com
Memorial Day Celebration at Liberty Bell Memorial Museum, 1601 Hickory Street., Melbourne, Judge Ali Majeed guest speaker. Entertainment by Melbourne Municipal Band. 10 a.m.
Brevard Veterans Memorial Center and Museum open from 8.30-4.30 admission is free.
“Old Fashioned” Memorial Day Celebration in Riverfront Park (Cocoa Village) 2-5pm. Free. Speakers, food, and live music.
Open House at Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum. FREE to Space Coast Residents and active/retired military! The museum is open from 9am-5pm. www.valiantaircommand.
