The weather seemed to want to behave today for the 45th Annual Ron Jon’s Easter Surfing Festival which started with kick off activities at Cocoa Beach Pier. Who would have thought that the weather would have warmed up more than 30 degrees overnight! But it did and with it it brought one of the most beautiful days on record in a long time. And that was good news for the more than 100,000 spectators expected to land on Florida’s Space Coast this weekend for the four day event which is the oldest surfing festival on the East coast.
Ron Jon Easter Surfing Festival will include events for Men, Women, Boys and Girls, from ages six to sixty. This year all events will be Pro/Am. Event coordinators will also award Scholarships plus a Distinguished Easter Surfing Championship Trophy in all Divisions.
Spectators are able to join in the fun as well since the event coordinators offer free demonstrations on learning how to skimboard and to surf. There will be street parties, live bands, several on the beach movies, and even a sunrise service on Sunday.
For great hotel rates despite it being Spring Break on Florida’s Space Coast.
