Commander Lee Archambault will lead Discovery’s crew of seven, along with Pilot Tony Antonelli, and Mission Specialists Joseph Acaba, John Phillips, Steve Swanson, Richard Arnold and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Koichi Wakata on mission STS-119 to the International Space Station.
After several delays due to errors in the flow valve during the November launch, the STS-119 mission was finally given the okay by NASA engineers after an intensive review. Even better the weather is projected to be perfect.
The crew who arrived on the Space Coast on Sunday, will deliver to the station the final set of solar arrays needed to complete the station’s complement of electricity-generating solar panels as well as a new station crew member to the orbital outpost.
