mistletoeAfter going through our local event calendar for the month of December, I’ve come up with a list of the safest best to enjoy the holidays on Florida’s Space Coast. And even better all of these activities are either free or less than $10!

10. Holiday Hoedown

Annual Holiday Hoedown featuring Food, music, dancing, and gifts from Santa!  Admission: FREE

9. Breakfast with Santa

Pancake Breakfast, Santa arriving on a fire truck, keepsake photo and stocking.  What more could you ask for and only $5.00 for children/$2 for adults

8. Holiday Hay Ride

Old fashioned hayride with Santa through lighted holiday displays.  Songs, crafts, games, photo opportunities, and refreshments.  $2 per person or $5 for a family of 3 or 4.

7. Jingle Bell Jog

3K run for the whole family in  Kiwannis Island Park, 951 Kiwanis Island Park Rd in Merritt Island. Pre-registration: $10.00, guarantees a T-Shirt. Day of Race.

6. Holiday Open House – Historic Downtown Melbourne

Annual holiday celebration on each Saturday night between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Each week features a different theme with carolers, Santa, Bagpippers and many of the business staying open late and giving away special goodies.   Admission FREE

5. Cocoa Beach’s Christmas Boat Parade

This annual event Christmas Light Boat Parade draws crowds up and down the Space Coast’s Indian River Lagoon! Admission FREE

4. Winter Craft Fair Downtown Cocoa Village


2. Space Coast Light Fest

More than 2 million holiday lights make up this drive-thru holiday extravaganza.  There’s also Santa and Mrs. Claus on hand as well as his sleigh and reindeer, toy soldiers, elves, and circus animals.  Admission $8

1.  Cocoa’s Holiday on Ice – Outdoor Skating Rink

The first ever outdoor ice skating rink in Downtown Cocoa VillageAdmission is $7 and skate rental $3mistletoe1
