Considering the large presence of military personnel present and retired living on Florida’s Space Coast its no wonder there’s a whole slew of memorials and celebrations marking Veterans sacrifices and contributions to our country.
So, I’ve compiled a list of Veteran Day events or discounts for active or retired military:
Veteran’s Day Eco Cruise with Dolphin Girl Cruises & Eco Tours proudly hosts a Veteran’s Day Cruise to acknowledge the contributions of our veteran’s by offering a special nature and wildlife narrative cruise along with a special discounted rate of $17 for each veteran or activy duty service person. Space Coast Retired Military Golf Classic is a 4 player scramble, mixed gender, computer matched flight event. Registration will be held on Monday, Nov. 10 at the Host Hotel TBA from noon-5 PM. Icebreaker held from 6 PM to 8 PM. Cost approx. $195 for three days competition (Nov. 11-14). Cost includes carts, green fees, drink ticket, light finger food, Icebreaker, and awards banquet. 26th Annual Massing of the Colors and Veterans Memorial Service @ 3pm at the George F. Schlatter Veterans Memorial Amphitheater at Brevard Community College, Cocoa Campus, 1519 Clearlake Road.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4206 Veterans Ceremony @ 11am. A bar-b-que will be held after the ceremony and all veterans eat free. Others make make a donation. VFW Post 4206 is located at 3201 S. Dairy Rd. in Melbourne.
Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum will hold an open house on Nov. 15 & 16 with free admissions for any military, active or retired and ALL Brevard county residents with identification.
