Too much to do for Labor Day Weekend

If you haven’t planned anything for the long weekend up ahead, I think you should plan on a visit to Florida’s Space Coast!  Tropical Storm Fay may have blown through, but she hasn’t ruined our beaches and she surely didn’t put a damper on a whole slew of activities, festivals, and concerts planned for the four day weekend!

Even though the largest charity surfing festival, 23rd Annual CBSC/NKF Pro-Am Surf Festival will be the highlight of this weekend.  Expecting to attract over 100,000 people to our area and raise more than $100,000 for the Florida Kidney Foundation…there will be something in town for everyone!

The Brevard Manatees , the class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, will finish up a three-day header tonight at Space Coast Stadium against the Jupiter Hammerheads.  Tonight’s fan promotion is Thirst-Aid Thursday – Fan Appreciation Night where 18 oz. Budweiser products & 20 oz. Coca-Cola products for $2! Click here to buy tickets.

To continue in the vein of those who are sports minded, the 10th Annual Melbourne Area Girl’s Labor Day Soccer Challenge will kick off the busy soccer season Labor Day weekend with the country’s largest “all girls soccer team” tournament!

If cracker jacks and kleats not appealing to you, then head over to Titusville Playhouse and their month long production of The Musical Sweeney Todd -The Demon Barber of Fleet StreetIt’s sure to be a cut-up of a show.  For tickets visit the Playhouse’s Official website.

For those of you who love lions, tigers, and bears the Brevard Zoo is hosting their 4th Annual Reptile Weekend!  The theme this year will focus on venomous snakes and insects!  Snakes on exhibit will include: Canebrake, Dusky Pygmy, Eastern Diamondback, Copperhead, Florida Kingsnake Everglades Ratsnake, Cornsnake and a Western Hognose.

Slithering snakes not your cup of tea, well that’s eyrie…literally.  Dancers, singers, live bands, steel drummers, poets and more will take center stage at Riverfront Park in downtown Cocoa Village for an Annual Caribbean Festival!  And admission get this is absolutely free!

As you can see there’s tons going on this weekend but there’s plenty more I didn’t want to list so as not to bore you.  But if you can get last minute tickets or just fill up your tank head over to Florida’s Space Coast and its 72-miles of beaches:)
