The organizers of the 23rd Annual Cocoa Beach Surf Company/National Kidney Foundation Charity Surf Festival are crossing their Ts and dotting their Is for the final leg of preparations for the largest charity surfing festival in the U.S. to take place this Labor Day weekend, at Sheperd Park, 211 E. Cocoa Beach Causeway in Cocoa Beach.
Last year, more than 500 professional/amateur surfers and hundreds of thousands of spectators converged on Florida’s Space Coast to raise over $120,000 for this annual event, which awards prizes in 20 different categories from the Men’s and Women’s Pro to the Legends and Super Menehunes and benefits the National Kidney Foundation of Florida.
The same categories will be back along with four days of activities for both spectators and participants. Some of the events will include a Press party at Coconuts On the Beach, a giant interactive JEEP sponsored road course, Capri Sun Half Pipe, a sponsor Party and Surfer Registration at Cocoa Beach Surf Company, kid’s face painting, FREE wax up and surfing lessons and demonstrations, Free poster signing and surf exhibition featuring members of the Surfing Hall of Fame East Coast Legends, a VIP reception and “Taste of Brevard”, live musical acts, beachside surfing movie and music in Shepard Park and legendary Bikini contest.
