Manatees Shut-Out Fort Myers over Week-end

Yesterday the Brevard Manatees topped the Fort Myers Miracle  during the last head up of a four game run at Space Coast Stadium in Viera.  The nights MVP, Josh Butler led his team to a 5-0 shutout victory after a rough first inning in which he gave up three walks and one hit.  However, Butler seemed to find his rhythm because he went on to pitch SIX shutout innings for the Manatees.  He struck out seven and only allowed four hits the entire game!!!  His teammates, Casey Baron and Mike McClendon finished off the shutout for the Manatees.

On the offense side, Jimmy Mojica, Lorenzo Cain, and Stephen Chapman each had two hits and an RBI.  Charlie Fermaint knocked two runs with a single and a sacrifice fly.  Last night’s win gave the Manatees a 2-2 split in a four-game series against the best team in the FSL.

Today, the Manatees head to Lakeland to begin a four-game set against the Lakeland Flying Tigers.  And with tickets going for the price of 1 with a coupon from The Ledger , you have no excuse to miss this game!  For Manatees’ upcoming home game schedule go to the Florida Space Coast Calendar
