Who would have ever thought skin cancer and celebrity could ever be lumped into the same sentence. But this week it will be when a posse of celebrities will descend onto Florida’s Space Coast for the World Skin Care Foundation’s 8th Annual Celebrity Softball Game.
Reminiscent of MTVs annual Celebrity Softball games, this annual event allows locals to get up close (well not that close) and watch their favorite stars battle it out over a friendly game of balls, bats, and cracker jacks, while raising awareness about a disease where over 1 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed every year and over 10,000 people die from it every year.
Free to the public, the sponsored event will raise funds which will allos the foundation to achieve their goal of offering free screenings and raise overal awareness around the world.
